The president has retained the services of A.T. Kearney, Inc., a senior-level executive search firm, to assist with the University of California's search for a chancellor for the Irvine campus.

A.T. Kearney, Inc., founded in 1946, has 29 executive search offices throughout the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. The firm has one of the most highly regarded higher education practices in the country. Recent university president placements include Colgate University, Ohio State University, Rutgers State University of New Jersey, the University System of Georgia, University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin system. A.T. Kearney, Inc. also has extensive experience in placing seasoned academic administrators at UC's campuses and Office of the President.

Alberto M. Pimentel, vice president, will serve as lead consultant for this search. During the last ten years, he has conducted approximately 200 searches in the academic and not-for-profit sectors, including the positions of president, chancellor, provost, dean, vice president and vice chancellor.

A.T. Kearney, Inc. will begin the search immediately by contacting potential candidates in addition to the individuals nominated by members of the search committee or submitted by members of the university community or other sources.
