Alison Holman, professor of Nursing Science, is a family nurse practitioner with a doctorate in health psychology who studies the mental and physical health effects of trauma. Following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, Holman and fellow researchers at UC Irvine began studying the psychological impact of 9/11 and the long-term health effects of traumatic life events.
