Body identified as missing engineering student
Campus community reminded of counseling services available
I regret to announce that the body discovered on Thursday night near the campus observatory has been identified as Mahesh Mahadevan, 23, a UC Irvine mechanical engineering graduate student.
Mahesh was reported missing on Sunday evening and a search for him had been under way. The victim of an apparent suicide, he was last seen on Saturday morning. The UC Irvine Police Department is leading the investigation.
