An Anteater in the White House
In June 2007, Peter flew with UC Irvine’s national champion men’s volleyball team to Washington, D.C., to be honored by President George W. Bush. Players gave the president his own toy anteater, and Bush held the mascot front-and-center for a photo. During his talk to 19 championship teams on the South Lawn, the president noted, “We even have Anteaters. Go Anteaters!”
