His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama thanks UCI students

"If there is a secret to happiness, I must keep it," His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama said with a laugh Wednesday. His prescription included a calm and open mind and meditation. The Buddhist leader and 1989 Nobel Peace Prize winner thanked the UCI scholars for their compassionate leadership.

Wearing his traditional red and saffron robes and an Anteaters visor, His Holiness started his talk by expressing appreciation for UCI’s XIV Dalai Lama Endowed Scholars.

Armaan Rowther will receive a $10,000 scholarship plus $2,500 to support a series of events intended to create a kinship of faiths in the UCI community and encourage coalition building between students and community members of varied faiths.
