The largest academic unit at UCI, the School of Social Sciences represents the university’s commitment to modern social science. The school is home to the Departments of Anthropology, Cognitive Sciences, Economics, Linguistics, Logic and the Philosophy of Science, Political Science and Sociology, and programs in Chicano/Latino Studies and International Studies. The school also hosts the Center for the Study of Democracy, Center for Asian Studies, Center on Immigration Studies, Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences, Center for Global Peace and Conflict Studies, Center for Transportation Studies and the Interdisciplinary Center for the Scientific Study of Ethics and Morality.
