CREDITS VUCI was originally developed in 1996 through a collaboration between UCI students, faculty, staff and the business community. The site was created by Vincent Chen, then a doctoral candidate in cognitive sciences, Mike D'Zmura, professor of cognitive sciences and director of the Virtual Reality Lab, Rich Elbaum, then assistant vice chancellor for communications, Mary Pickering, then new media technology manager in the Communications Office, and Marcy Reed, then director of special programs, tours and event in admissions and relations with schools.
