COVID-19 Policies and Testing Updates & Reminders

Yesterday, the California Department of Public Health lifted the regional stay at-home order. The release of this order has little impact on the campus since Orange County is in the Purple Tier. As a reminder, the following policies remain in effect:

• Gatherings are prohibited, including indoor gatherings in graduate and undergraduate housing communities.
• Face coverings are required in all public settings.
• Physical distancing is required.
• Students are required to continue with weekly asymptomatic testing.
• Students are required to participate in the daily symptom check.

COVID-19 Testing Information for Students

Testing available for off campus residents and students

Weekly testing is now available to: 

• Students residing on campus*
• Students attending in-person classes (when classes resume)
• Students residing within 10 miles of the campus**
• Students who regularly attend onsite events or activities
• Students involved in campus-based research
• Students working on campus

• *Students returning to their campus residence from Winter Break must test within 48 hours of their arrival to campus.
• **Students having difficulty accessing the Patient Portal to schedule their appointment can contact the Coronavirus Response Center at 949-824-9918 or covid19@uci.edu for assistance.

In accordance with the UCI Executive Directive – Student Testing, students entering or physically present on UCI-controlled property must enroll in weekly asymptomatic testing.
