Additional Family Support Resources Available from Bright Horizons
August 30, 2021
In an effort to continue to assist our employees during this unique and unprecedented period of transition, we have partnered with Bright Horizons® to expand the resources available to support you and your family.
As part of our Bright Horizons Back-Up Care™ program and Additional Family Supports™ for all UCI faculty/academics, staff, resident physicians, and graduate students, you now also have access to additional academic support including virtual tutoring and the Bright Horizons College Coach® program.
Virtual Tutoring: As part of your subsidized Bright Horizons Back-Up Care™ program, you can exchange your back-up care uses for virtual tutoring sessions to help your child stay on track during the academic year ahead. Even better, back-up care copays are also waived for virtual tutoring in September and October.
College Coach Program: Expert support from former college admissions and financial aid officers: customized college lists, essay feedback, financial aid tips, a school-year plan, and strategies to set your child up for success. Schedule a one-on-one personalized guidance session with an expert, attend live webinars, and submit questions. This program is completely free to all UCI and UCI Health employees and graduate students.
FAMILY CARE RESOURCES
As an added benefit to UCI employees, back-up child, adult, and elder care is available with waived copays from September 1 – October 31, 2021, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you. Bright Horizons Back-Up Care™ can be used anytime you need to be at work and a family member needs assistance or support. You may access up to 12 uses of subsidized back-up care through Oct. 31, 2021. Reserve care last minute or up to 90 days in advance of when you need it.
If you need ongoing child or elder care, you’ve got options. In addition to the UCI Childcare Centers and other local childcare centers that provide a discount to the UCI Community, you can now get preferred enrollment for full-time child care at Bright Horizons® centers; receive tuition discounts at network partner child care centers; a discount on nanny placement services; and take advantage of a free membership to Sittercity’s premium comprehensive database of self-pay services including nannies and sitters, pet care, housekeeping help, and virtual sitters.
Visit families.uci.edu for more information and resources for dependent and elder care. To register for the Bright Horizons program, visit https://clients.brighthorizons.com/uci. If prompted, enter the username UCI and the password care4you.
