U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla fielded questions from Chancellor Howard Gillman during an event sponsored by the OC Forum. The recently appointed senator discussed his personal and political background, his initial experiences on the job in Washington, D.C., and the issues he hopes to tackle.
Scholar pens book on dread
Critical race theorist David Theo Goldberg, a Distinguished Professor of comparative literature and anthropology who grew up in South Africa, explores dread, fear and anxiety in a book released this week.

The outpatient medical center, which debuted June 28, offers primary care and a full range of specialty services to South County residents.

The actors who played Kevin and Stanley on the sitcom sent video messages to UCI’s Class of ’21. “Zot, zot, zot,” said Kevin (a.k.a. Brian Baumgartner), joking that he didn’t know that’s what anteaters say because he’s never talked to one. “Zoot, zoot, zoot,” said Stanley (a.k.a. Leslie David Baker).
